Business Process: Ordering a Pizza from Domino’s

According to the book, a business process is a sequence of activities for accomplishing a function. Today I will be describing the business process for Domino’s pizza and the specific roles, tasks, actors, material flows and information flows. In this specific example the customer starts the business process by selecting the pizza they want to eat and calling in the order. The Domino’s Pizza cashier will receive the order, put it in the computer system, and pass it to the pizza maker who will make the pizza as specified from the order.  When the pizza maker is finished they will give the pizza to the Domino’s delivery man who will drive to the orderer’s destination. The customer pays for the pizza and then receives the pizza and return. This concludes the Domino’s Pizza business process.
